Data Harvesting for Disaster Recovery…

Implicit in every maintenance contract is an obligation for the service provider to perform regular back-ups of PBX data. Customer expectations of data back-up are often missed for two reasons; 1) its time consuming and therefore expensive for service providers to routinely perform this service on a regular basis, and 2) in a true disaster, requiring replacement of the CPU, traditional backup disks are useless.

Bristol Capital has solved both of these problems. For a very small fee, Bristol Capital’s Data Backup Service will perform a remote backup and arc hi eve of all of the binary files that describe a PBX’s configuration. Those backup files are available 24X7 from our secure, password protected web site for upload to the PBX. Service providers need never miss a backup again due to conflicting service obligations.

Our GuardianService goes even further. In addition to archiving all of the binary files, we also obtain all of the textual files (TNB, CNF, RDB, etc.) that describe the PBX’s operation. Using these textual files we have the ability, for example, to take any 400 ports from the database of a 6,000 port 81C and upload it to a temporary Option 11C. This flexibility provides the industry’s only true disaster recovery capability – everything else is just a backup.
