Bristol Capital provides critical disaster recovery support for Nortel PBX customers in the Gulf Region

Montvale, NJ - September, 2005 -- Bristol Capital recently began providing critical disaster recovery services for some of the energy sector's largest players in the Gulf region, and was successful in securing complete, emergency PBX database backups as Hurricane Rita made landfall.

In the final hours before Hurricane Rita hit the Gulf Coast, Nortel vendors supporting energy giants Chevron and Marathon Oil contacted Bristol Capital requesting that emergency, remote PBX backups be produced for the refineries along the Gulf Coast, thus ensuring that all PBX data would be secure in the event of a catastrophic hardware failure.

Within minutes of receiving the requests, Bristol Capital quickly established connectivity to the Chevron and Marathon PBX systems (all large Nortel Option 61 and 81 systems) and produced two types of database backups - a full binary backup as well as a platform-independent backup) using its GuardianService application, a widely-used PBX disaster recovery and restoration service offered by select Nortel vendors.

Files required to produce backup-disks were then made available for the end users and their respective vendors on the InfoPlus Online PBX Database, a web-based PBX management tool hosted for authorized InfoPlus distributors. In the event of a failure resulting in the loss of data, the files can simply be downloaded from the website and copied to a floppy disk which can then be used to reboot and restore the data in the Nortel Option 61 or 81.

Customers were also protected against a complete data and hardware loss with a platform-independent backup, produced in concert with the binary database backup. This secondary backup, stored in a format using Bristol's proprietary technology, enables the company to migrate partial or entire PBX databases from one Nortel PBX to another (if, for example, the original system was completely destroyed) in a fraction of the time that it would require for a technician to manually rebuild the data line by line.
